### The Business seat and which aircraft have it

Air France calls its long-haul cabin simply Business. Its newest version is a 1-2-1 suite with a sliding door, a fully flat bed of almost two meters, direct aisle access from every seat, and center pairs with a divider that lowers for companions. It is fitted on the Boeing 777-300ERs Air France has reconfigured, 48 or 60 per aircraft depending on whether the plane also carries La Première, and on more than 20 Airbus A350-900s delivered since mid-2023, with 48 each.

### Read the full guide

The rollout is not finished. In mid-October 2026, One Mile at a Time counted 18 777-300ERs with the new La Première and nine still to be reconfigured; Air France aimed to finish in 2026, but one established guide expects spring 2027. The unconverted 777-300ERs, the 777-200ERs and the 787-9s keep an older 1-2-1 reverse herringbone seat: fully flat, with aisle access, but no door. A350-900s delivered before mid-2023 have 34 staggered 1-2-1 seats, also without doors.

The exception is the Airbus A330-200, which Air France is phasing out. Its 36 flat seats sit in a 2-2-2 layout, so window passengers step past a neighbor to reach the aisle. Air France says every other long-haul Business seat has direct aisle access.

### Nonstop routes from the US

Air France flies nonstop to Paris Charles de Gaulle from New York JFK, Newark, Boston, Washington Dulles, Atlanta, Chicago O’Hare, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and also serves Dallas Fort Worth, Detroit, Seattle, Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, Phoenix and Las Vegas, some only a few times a week. Minneapolis is a summer-only route. Las Vegas, launched in April 2026, is filed to continue this winter. Nashville and San Diego start in May 2027, three times a week each.

Denver, a summer route, ended its 2026 season on October 10 and is closed to bookings for summer 2027. Frequencies change by season: Orlando ran five times a week last winter, and one of the daily New York JFK flights is suspended from November 9 to December 13, 2026, so check the days your route operates.

Air France works with Delta across the Atlantic, and the two offered up to 11 daily Paris to New York flights in summer 2026. An Air France flight number can be operated by Delta, with Delta’s own seat, so check the operator of each flight.

### Lounges in the US and in Paris

In Paris, Air France’s largest business lounge is in Terminal 2E Hall K, enlarged in April 2025 to three levels and about 2,800 square meters. Others are in Halls L and M of Terminal 2E and in Terminal 2F, and you can use only the lounge in your departure terminal.

In the US, Air France has its own lounges at New York JFK Terminal 1, Boston Logan Terminal E (redesigned in 2025), Washington Dulles, the Tom Bradley International Terminal in Los Angeles (opened in 2024) and Chicago O’Hare Terminal 5 (opened in October 2025). At JFK, Air France plans to move to the New Terminal One in 2027 and open a lounge of more than 2,700 square meters there. At other airports, its lounge finder names the partner lounge to use.

Access depends on the fare as well as the cabin. Air France admits Business passengers on Standard and Flex fares, without a guest; La Première includes one. Business Light fares, launched in 2023 without lounge access or a second checked bag, excluded North America at launch, so check the fare name on your quote.

### Baggage and fare rules

Air France’s US fee table allows Business passengers two checked bags of up to 32 kg (70 lb) each. In the cabin you may bring two items plus a small bag, 18 kg (40 lb) in total. If another airline handles part of the trip, Air France advises following the strictest allowance on the journey.

Business comes in fare levels with different rules. Flex fares can be changed or canceled without an Air France penalty and include free advance seat selection. Standard fares can usually be changed for a fee plus any fare difference, with tighter refund terms, so read the conditions attached to your quote before you pay.

Seat selection depends on where the ticket starts. Air France’s US seat page lists choosing a Business seat as free, but since June 25, 2026, Light and Standard Business tickets that start in Europe and fly to the US charge to reserve a seat in advance, according to Delta’s agency policy notes.

### Connecting through Paris Charles de Gaulle

Air France uses Terminals 2E (Halls K, L and M), 2F and 2G at Charles de Gaulle. Paris Aéroport’s planning guide gives 90 minutes as the minimum transfer time within Terminal 2 and 120 minutes to or from 2G, for information only. On one ticket, Air France builds the connection time into what it sells and rebooks you if a delay breaks the connection; on separate tickets, that risk is yours.

Expect a security check on most connections. If your next flight goes to a Schengen country, such as Nice or Rome, you also pass French border control in Paris. US citizens need no visa for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, but since April 10, 2026 the EU’s Entry/Exit System records fingerprints and a facial image at the Schengen border, which can slow a first entry.

Since August 2025, Air France’s Short Connection Pass sends passengers with a tight connection a text and an email on arrival and gives them priority lanes at security and border control. When your connection includes border control, a longer buffer is still the safer choice.

### Choosing your flight and seat

If the door matters, check the aircraft and seat map for your exact flight. The reconfigured 777-300ERs with the new La Première fly to Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco and New York JFK, among other routes, and carry the door suite in Business. Atlanta, Houston and Washington Dulles also see La Première but were not listed with the new cabin in mid-October 2026. Swaps happen: some JFK flights this fall are filed with a 777-200ER in place of a 777-300ER.

Center pairs suit companions because the divider lowers, while solo travelers often pick a window seat. On the 777-300ER the cabin is split into a larger front section and a smaller rear one that some travelers find quieter. On an A330-200, choose an aisle seat to avoid climbing past a neighbor.

Most flights from the US leave in the evening and land in Paris the next morning, so the bed matters most eastbound; flights home usually leave Paris by day. Compare departure times with any onward connection in mind, and ask your agent to compare Air France’s own flights with Delta-operated ones on the same route.

    > Den Dunn worked with me to get the best price He planned our return trip from Turkeye with an airline that I had no knowledge about. He assured me that Turkish air was great, which they were. He planned our change of planes in Houston, and it was one of the smoothest transitions I have ever had. There was no long lay over. I will definitely be giving him a call the nest time we travel .

## Air France business class: questions

### What is the difference between Air France Business and La Première?

Business is the lie-flat cabin on Air France long-haul flights. La Première is a private first class suite sold on a small number of routes such as New York JFK to Paris, with its own check-in and lounge in Paris.

### Will my Air France flight have the new business seat with a door?

Air France is still installing its newest business seat across the long-haul fleet, so some flights use the earlier lie-flat seat. Your agent can check the aircraft scheduled for your dates and tell you which seat it has.

### How do I book Air France business class through BuyBusinessClass?

Call, send the quote form or message an agent on WhatsApp with your dates and cities. A human agent compares Air France fares through Paris, including negotiated and consolidator fares, and confirms the fare with you before you pay.

### Does every Air France Business seat have direct aisle access?

Almost. Air France says every long-haul Business seat has direct aisle access except some seats on the Airbus A330-200, which uses a 2-2-2 layout. Its 777s, 787-9s and A350s are laid out 1-2-1.

### Which Air France planes have the Business suite with a door?

Reconfigured Boeing 777-300ERs and Airbus A350-900s delivered since mid-2023. Older 777s, the 787-9s and earlier A350s have a flat seat with aisle access but no door. Aircraft can change, so check the seat map for your flight.

### Which US cities have nonstop Air France flights to Paris?

New York JFK, Newark, Boston, Washington Dulles, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco, plus Dallas Fort Worth, Detroit, Seattle, Orlando, Raleigh-Durham, Phoenix, Las Vegas and, in summer, Minneapolis. Nashville and San Diego start in May 2027, and Denver drops off for summer 2027.

### How many bags can I check in Air France Business?

Two bags of up to 32 kg (70 lb) each, plus two cabin items and a small bag weighing up to 18 kg (40 lb) together. Business fares sold without the second bag, where offered, allow less.

### Do I go through passport control when connecting in Paris?

Usually only if your next flight goes to a Schengen country. You then enter the Schengen area in Paris and, since April 2026, register fingerprints and a facial image under the Entry/Exit System. Allow at least 90 minutes within Terminal 2.

### Can I use the Air France lounge with a Business ticket?

Yes on Standard and Flex fares, for yourself, in the lounge of your departure terminal. In the US, Air France has its own lounges at New York JFK, Boston, Washington Dulles, Los Angeles and Chicago O’Hare.
