The Business Class seat and which aircraft have it
Singapore Airlines calls its long-haul cabin simply Business Class, and every flight it operates to the US in the 2026-27 schedule uses the version fitted to its Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 777-300ER. The seat is unusually wide and faces forward in a 1-2-1 layout, so every passenger has direct aisle access. It does not recline straight into a bed: the crew flips the seatback over to make a flat bed, and you lie slightly diagonally with your feet in a cubby under the shelf ahead.

The A350-900 comes in two long-haul versions. The ultra long range jets carry 67 Business Class seats and premium economy only, with no economy cabin. The standard long-haul A350 has 42 business seats plus premium economy and economy. The 777-300ER, used on the one-stop routes described below, has 48 business seats and a small first class cabin.
The A380 has a newer Business Class seat on its upper deck that reclines directly into a bed, but in this schedule it flies from Singapore to cities such as London, Frankfurt and Sydney, not to the US. On onward flights in Asia you may get Regional Business Class: on the medium-haul A350 and the 787-10 it is a flat bed in a 1-2-1 layout with aisle access from every seat, while on the 737-8 the ten seats alternate between pairs and singles, so window seats in the paired rows have no direct aisle access. The airline has said its first A350 with new cabins should enter service in the first quarter of 2027, subject to approvals.
Nonstop and one-stop routes from the US
Five US airports have nonstop Singapore Airlines flights to Changi in the 2026-27 schedule. Newark and New York JFK each have a daily A350 ultra long range flight of about 18 to 20 hours, depending on direction and season, among the longest scheduled flights anywhere. San Francisco has two daily nonstops, one on each A350 version. Los Angeles has a daily nonstop plus a second flight about three days a week, and Seattle is served about five days a week, both on the standard long-haul A350.
Two one-stop routes use the 777-300ER. From JFK, flights SQ25 and SQ26 stop in Frankfurt, and from Los Angeles, SQ11 and SQ12 stop in Tokyo Narita; these are the only Singapore Airlines flights from the US with first class. Houston is no longer served: the Manchester to Houston leg was suspended from April 1, 2025, and the airline does not list Houston among its current A350 destinations, so travelers from Texas connect through another gateway.
Lounges in the US and at Changi
Singapore Airlines has no SilverKris Lounge in the US, so business passengers use partner lounges the airline lists: the Capital One Lounge or the Air India Maharaja Lounge at JFK, Lounge & Co in Newark Terminal B, the Star Alliance Lounge on Level 6 of the Tom Bradley International Terminal in Los Angeles, the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge or the Air India Maharaja Lounge in San Francisco, and The Club at SEA in Seattle. Access follows your departing flight, and a business ticket does not include a guest.
At Changi the main SilverKris Lounge is on Level 3 of Terminal 3, near the A gates, and is open around the clock. Terminal 2 has a second SilverKris Lounge near the E gates that stays open during a phased renovation the airline expects to finish around mid-2027. Business passengers on any Star Alliance flight may use the SilverKris lounges, while Star Alliance Gold members flying in economy go to the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge instead.
Baggage and fare rules
Flights to and from the US use the piece concept: two checked bags of up to 32 kg (about 70 lb) each in Business Class, each no larger than 158 cm (62 inches) in combined length, width and height. Star Alliance Gold members get one extra piece. In the cabin you may bring two pieces of up to 7 kg each, each within 115 cm in total. Trips that do not touch the US use a 40 kg weight allowance instead, which matters if you buy a separate onward ticket from Singapore. If the first carrier on your ticket is not Singapore Airlines, that airline may set the baggage rules for the whole trip.
Business fares come in three types. Lite cannot be canceled and charges a fee for changes. Standard allows changes and cancellation for a fee. Flexi allows free changes, and its cancellation charge is lower than on the cheaper types. Every Business Class fare includes free advance seat selection. If you combine fare types on one booking, the most restrictive cancellation rule applies, while change rules follow each flight, so ask your agent which fare type a quote uses before you pay.
Connecting through Changi
Singapore Airlines flights to Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea, plus a few South Asian cities, check in at Terminal 2, while other routes, including the US flights, use Terminal 3. Arriving flights can land at Terminals 1, 2 or 3. In the transit area a free Skytrain links those three terminals from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m., and travellators connect them on foot. Watch the screens for your gate, since Changi does not make final boarding calls.
US citizens who stay in the transit area need no visa and no arrival card. If you leave the airport, for example to visit Jewel or join the Free Singapore Tour on a layover of 5.5 to 24 hours, you clear immigration: the US is not on Singapore’s visa-required list, but you must submit the SG Arrival Card within three days before arrival and hold a passport valid for at least six months. Travelers on separate tickets who must collect bags and check in again also count as entering Singapore. Your agent can confirm that a connection meets the airline’s minimum connecting time.
Choosing your flight and seat
Pick the routing first. The ultra long range flights from Newark, which leaves in the morning, and JFK, which leaves late at night, are the fastest way to Singapore from the East Coast, and the whole aircraft is business and premium economy. Westbound nonstops from San Francisco and Seattle take about 16 to 17 hours. The one-stop 777 routes via Frankfurt or Tokyo suit travelers who prefer two shorter flights or want first class.
On the A350 and 777, bulkhead seats have far larger footwells, which taller travelers usually prefer, though they sit near galleys and bassinet positions. Window seats suit solo travelers, and the center pairs have a movable divider for couples. On the ultra long range A350 the forward business cabin of 23 seats is usually calmer than the 44-seat rear cabin. Seat selection is free, and you can pre-order a main course through Book the Cook up to 24 hours before departure.

I had an excellent experience finding my business class tickets through BuyBusiness.com. The agent who helped me, Oslo Cooper, was honest, professional, and extremely attentive throughout the entire process. Oslo took the time to understand what I was looking for, answered all my questions, and made sure I was comfortable with my options before moving forward. I really appreciated the personal attention and transparency. It made the whole experience easy and stress-free. I’m very happy with the service I received and would definitely recommend BuyBusiness.com and Oslo Cooper to anyone looking for help with business class travel. Den Dunn worked with me to get the best price He planned our return trip from Turkeye with an airline that I had no knowledge about. He assured me that Turkish air was great, which they were. He planned our change of planes in Houston, and it was one of the smoothest transitions I have ever had. There was no long lay over. I will definitely be giving him a call the nest time we travel .

Diesel Bond was such a perfect agent. My Visa to Pakistan was extremely hard to do by myself. After 4 months going back forth with submission I was totally worn out. I had never used agency before and will never go back to doing myself! Your agency gave me such peace of mind! Will refer you to everyone! Charles Robards

Singapore Airlines business class: questions
Does Singapore Airlines fly nonstop from the US?
Yes. Singapore Airlines flies nonstop to Singapore from several US cities, including New York, Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. Some other US flights stop on the way.
Can I book Suites or First Class from the US?
Suites and First Class are on aircraft that fly some one-stop routes from the US, such as New York JFK via Frankfurt. The ultra-long nonstop flights from the New York area carry business and premium economy only, so your agent can check first class options for your dates.
How do I book Singapore Airlines business class through BuyBusinessClass?
Call, send the quote form or message an agent on WhatsApp. A human agent compares nonstop and one-stop Singapore Airlines options and confirms the fare with you before you pay.
Which US cities have nonstop Singapore Airlines flights?
Newark, New York JFK, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle. Seattle runs about five days a week and the others daily, with extra San Francisco and Los Angeles flights. Houston service was suspended in 2025.
Do all Singapore Airlines Business Class seats have aisle access?
On every aircraft flying to the US, yes: the A350-900 and 777-300ER use a 1-2-1 layout. The exception is the 737-8 on some short regional flights, where window seats in paired rows lack direct aisle access.
What is the difference between the ultra long range A350 and the regular one?
The seat is the same. The ultra long range version has 67 business seats and no economy cabin, and flies to Newark, JFK and once daily to San Francisco. The regular long-haul A350 has 42 business seats.
How much baggage can I bring in business class from the US?
Two checked bags of up to 32 kg each, within 158 cm in combined dimensions, plus two cabin bags of up to 7 kg each.
Can I change or cancel a Singapore Airlines business class ticket?
It depends on the fare type. Lite allows paid changes but no cancellation, Standard allows both for a fee, and Flexi allows free changes with a cancellation fee.
Do I need a visa to connect in Singapore on a US passport?
Not if you stay in the transit area. To enter Singapore on a layover, US citizens need no visa but must submit the SG Arrival Card within three days before arrival and hold a passport valid for six months.
